Chlamydia Symptoms, Testing and Treatment

Chlamydia is a highly contagious STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). It is a bacterial infection called "chlamydia trachomatis" and can be treated and cured with antibiotics. It's a very common STI, especially amongst 14-24 year old's.
It is spread by vaginal fluids and semen, this infection can affect the genitals, cervix, anus, urethra, throat and eyes.
Chlamydia Symptoms
The symptoms between men and women are different but are both spread through vaginal, oral and anal sex. Chlamydia is often symptomless.
Symptoms for Women
- Vaginal discharge with a possible odor.
- Itching and burning around the affected area.
- Painful periods, or irregular bleeding during the menstrual cycle.
- Pain during sex or urination.
